Idaho Education Incentive Loan Forgiveness Program
To qualify you must be an Idaho resident attending a public Idaho college for teaching or nursing. Program
provides tuition waiver if recipient works as a teacher or nurse for a minimum of 2 years in Idaho. Students
must apply after they are admitted to nursing or teaching program, and within 2 years of graduating from
high school. To be eligible you must have attended high school in Idaho, been in the top 15% of your class
or have had a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Idaho Legion Auxiliary Nurses
Scholarship
To provide financial assistance for the nursing education of
Idaho veterans of their children.
Number Awarded: 1 each year.

Indian Employment Assistance
Applicant must be a member of a federally recognized tribe, band, or group of Indians served by the
Bureau of Indian Affairs. Applicant must be 18-35 years old, live on or near an Indian reservation, and
show financial need. Nurse's training has a 3-year limit, and there is a 2-year limit on other training.
Funding does not apply to associate of arts or bachelor degrees.
Indian Fellowship Program
Assistance to undergrad and grad students preparing for careers in medicine, law, engineering, natural
resources, business administration, education, psychology or related fields.
Indian Health Scholarship Program
The Health Professions Scholarship provides financial assistance for students enrolled in an NLN-accredited, associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree nursing program. Funding is available for up to four years. Open to American Indian or Alaska Natives only. Applicants must sign a contract agreeing to enter into a service obligation with the I.H.S. to provide health services upon graduation. Scholarship support is generous.
Indian Health Service Health Professions Pregraduate Scholarship Program
Open to Native Americans or Alaska natives who are college juniors and seniors in a baccalaureate degree
program leading to a career in medicine or dentistry. Amount: tuition+ fees and monthly stipend of $938.
Scholarship recipients must intend to serve the Indian People.
Duration: 1 year.
